The year is 1978. The war against the Death Eaters has been boiling under the surface for almost a decade now. It was little things at first, easy to ignore, escalating to bigger attacks, bigger crimes, and of course, retaliation. Now the country is about ready to tear itself apart as the Ministry steps up their attempts to defeat Voldemort and no one is really sure who they should trust, if they should trust anyone at all. Who can you turn to when your own government is as likely to kill you as the masked criminals roaming the streets?

Even the muggles are starting to notice. Attacks in muggle places are becoming more frequent, the Death Eaters getting more bold. And everyone is asking the same question.

How long before it's open war?

The First War is a Post-Warts, MWPP era RPG. We are canon through November 1st, 1978 and then we diverge, allowing the characters to tell their own stories.

Currently we are most interested in: Order Members, Death Eaters, and MLE Employees

Hi!

We're a brand-new just opened small group PSL sort of game looking for people to fill some roles. Here is the current cast list and I'd really like to get someone to fill out the roles of Abrax and Carion so we can get the game moving - though we'd welcome all other characters.

All the details can be found in the mod journal, though all questions can be addressed to stonemod@gmail.com

Thanks for looking.

Full Circle: A Harry Potter Future Gen Game

With the line of returning dead slowing down (or hopefully stopped), with Tom Riddle under the watchful eye of Albus Dumbledore, with Fenrir Greyback dead, with Narcissa Malfoy no longer in office as Minister for Magic, and with the "forgotten" Muggleborns still being tracked down, the wizarding world is hoping for a return of peace and normalcy.

However, two Egyptians are on their way to Scotland to try to stop the amulet that triggered the return of the dead before the rumored curse breaks free - but will anyone believe them? Will they be able to stop it in time?

Then there's the matter of the identity of the escaped returnee - who came out of the fireplace on Halloween, and what does it mean for the wizarding world?

Well-balanced. OC Friendly.

A pack of wolves have moved from Russia to London now that Greyback is out of the picture - but what are their intentions? Do they intend to attempt to police the rogue werewolf responsible for Fenrir's death - or join him?

Despite the watchful eyes on him, Tom Riddle is making plans to begin again - without repeating the mistakes of his past. But his now known half-blood status has some of his former followers more inclined to play him than follow him.

Death Eaters, young and old, are creeping out of the woodwork and banding together once more now that their Dark Lord has returned. Behind the scenes, things are moving, setting up to bring the wizarding world full circle.

More About Us

Full Circle is a future gen game set in 2024. The game centers around the lives of adults and students with plots happening in and around Hogwarts as well as the world outside the school. We run game wide plots that all characters are welcome to be involved in and while we do enjoy building character relationships, shipping is not the main focus of our game.

I broke my glasses last night. In the morning, when I sheepishly reported to Mum what had happened, she told me I should find a backup pair (don't have one; it's been years and my prescription changed) and call the optometrist. Now, I am a logical person, but do not ask me to make a phone call if there is any alternative. I will panic, shut down, and become defensive. The only kind of phone calls I can handle are when someone calls me, when I call home, when I call somewhere I know a robot will answer, and when I have absolutely no choice. It's hard enough talking to strangers in person, or emailing them; not knowing who'll be at the other end of the phone is impossible. And it's not just that I need to make more calls, goddammit. I feel ill when I'm pushed. And nobody understands. *single tear*

Halloween at Godric's Hollow changed the course of history -- a savior was slain in his crib, and a Dark Lord rose to great and lasting power.

Headmistress Umbridge has been murdered, Hogwarts closed indefinitely. Werewolf attacks are on the rise, children taken from loving homes because one parent is a werewolf. St. Mungo's is as much a place of torture as of healing as new and better ways of killing are researched. Traitors hide under the banners they chose, while madmen lead the way. The Order is weak, though mobilizing. Some have lost hope in them, while others strive to resurrect the Phoenix.

No one knows what the future will hold.

The world is different. There is no Boy Who Lived to save you.

  • thelana: The Genius Wranglers: A Rant - Personally, I think the appeal of those relationships has very little to do with people yearning for an old fashioned woman supporting superior (genius!) man dynamic or people getting stuck on some Oedipal trope. I think it comes more from the side effects of the trope. The typical Wrangler personality, especially of this chiding mother sorts means that they are being cast with motivations other than just looking for hotness. -

Seems, madam! Nay, it is; I know not ‘seems’.

The Other Side is an Alternative Universe Harry Potter game. In 2001, with Second War alumni returning for a sudden reunion, they quickly find themselves sucked into another world altogether. Given housing of their own for the time being, they come to realize that they're not the only ones stuck in such an intensely abrupt situation. With them, huddled all under one Inn's roof, are various alumni from the First War.

This new world is an alternative take on how the war could have gone. With Bellatrix leading the head of a vicious group of assassins called the Moraie, she stands tall as conqueror of Britain with her husband Rodolphus and their adopted son, Neville. It seems as if she had a different take on how to deal with the "Chosen One" the Prophecy spoke of. Surely raising him would be enough to cancel it out? So she hopes. And, where is Albus Dumbledore in all of this, you might ask? Disappearing shortly after the crumbling of the Order and Bellatrix's rise to power in 1981, he has been neither seen nor heard from in twenty years. Aberforth was kind enough to take over the position of headmaster of Hogwarts after his brother's disappearance and is hoping that with the arrival of all of these new visitors that perhaps reinstating the Order to what it once was will bring Albus back for good.

OUR SOMETIME SISTER, NOW OUR QUEEN.

meta: squicks and siblings

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Claudia Christian mentioned in a blog post the other day that a B5 director ("who had clearly never watched the show") had told her to play her scenes with Sheridan more "sexy and coquettish" and I had such a strong "EWNOGROSS" reaction that I had to step back and analyze why. I can handle all kinds of fic/pairings, even if I prefer to avoid them. But Sheridan/Ivanova disgusts me, and thinking about it I've come to the conclusion that it's because they're too much like siblings.

It's kind of funny, I suppose. I can handle all kinds of screwed-up pairings if I understand the kink, even if I don't share it. I can deal with non-con, power imbalance including parent/child incest, aliens... lots of stuff. And I'm on IJ substantially because I used to have a good friend who wrote and read Weasleycest, and while I wasn't into it I didn't like the idea of her ability to do so being restricted. But despite this, sibling incest remains one of my biggest squicks.

Maybe it's because I have siblings I'm close to, and the idea of people perverting that kind of relationship feels too close to home. But I have parents I'm close to, too, and I can handle parent/child type stuff. I suppose in the Sheridan/Ivanova case, there's the added factor that they're not related by blood or by legal definition, and I've got those siblings too and know how upsetting I'd find it if people ignored that and assumed that we were sexually involved. Ties in to the whole "a man and a woman can't be just friends ever" cultural assumption, which I hate because I used to be the girl who had all guy friends and wasn't into any of them, no, really, stop teasing me, Mum! *coughs* Tangent there. Anyway, I think there's another factor.

Actors are often treated as people whose job is to convey emotions, deliver lines, and embody personalities. They are, of course. But another job they do is play relationships, and they're often not as good at that. We've all seen a big romantic storyline completely fizzle because the main romance lacked chemistry. Then, too, parent-child dynamics on screen and stage often fall flat. But the most commonly disappointing relationships I'm used to seeing are sibling ones. Screen siblings, whether bickering or affectionate, tend to fail to convince. And so I guess when I see a sibling relationship I like, I really don't like seeing it taken through the "a man and a woman can't be just friends ever" cliché. So Sheridan and Ivanova, whose sibling vibe seems so clear to me, I can't bear to think of in a sexual situation.

(Claudia Christian, I may have mentioned, is brilliant at playing relationships. Yet another reason I love B5.)
